▸ Urban Coverage Index Calculation (NDBI) LandSat8

First, we open data for the sixth and seventh domains where the domains of the Lansat8 urban index are as follows:

Normalized Difference Built Up Index(NDBI) =(Band6-Band7)/ (Band6+Band7)

Also open the data on the boundaries of the study area about this from the table of contents list right button on Add Data and then choose the path and open what we need, and save all layers as explained earlier, as in the following form:

1- We cut the ranges on a scale by study area limits using clip as explained earlier.
2- The sixth band appears after cutting the required study area as follows:

3-The seventh band appears as follows:

  1. Through arc Toolbox list we choose spatial analyst tools
    Then we choose raster calculator

7- We reclassify the results using the Reclassify tool within arc Toolbox tools where we have a window where we import the previous file into this window either by dragging and dropping into input raster rectangle or by import by place of preservation, and then clicking on Classify for wider options for classification as follows:

9- We change the classification and divide it into only two fields, by opening the characteristics of the last layer, then classified) and choosing the right colors for each field, as follows:

10- And we have the final product as follows,
Where the yellow color indicates the urban areas in Aleppo province and the green color indicates the non-urban areas
